Detoxify your thought and be free
~ Ernest Agyemang Yeboah, Ghanaian writer and teacher
My approach to life could not be summed up more aptly. We ourselves are responsible for decluttering our minds, simply turning them off or at least giving them some space and expanding our horizons. “Free your mind!” – That’s what I would love to shout out the window at the top of my voice every morning. Yes, that’s me, artist by conviction and passion.
I’m glad you stopped by here and are interested in my art. If you have any questions, you can always contact me. But first I would like to tell you a little more about me.
I am not a trained artist but started my art out of pure fascination and pure passion. In fact, it started as a little girl when I used tracing paper to trace the illustrations in my storybooks. When I was 14, I had the opportunity to do an internship at the Staatstheater in Mainz, where I helped design a stage set. I was allowed to work on my own painting made of fabric with oil paints for about two hours every day. At that time I was very fascinated by Claude Monet and August Macke. But soon I began to stop looking at art by others. Neither for enjoyment nor as an orientation. I no longer wanted to be influenced by anything or anyone.
Free your mind! – This very phrase picks up again at this point. I want to be completely free in my art and not have to follow strict guidelines. This gives me a feeling of freedom, lightness and self-determination.
But now back to my art. If you look at my works, you will notice that I don’t have a recurring style. My art is free-spirited and versatile – just as life should be. I joyfully swim against the general flow of artists and like to try new things. Thus, each of my works is unique.
But even such a unique piece consists of many different facets, which in turn can be highlighted. And that’s exactly what I do, in part by photographing individual excerpts from my works and offer them as a print in a limited edition. This shows the incredible diversity of art. This is an important cultural asset that can help to spread my life motto FREE YOUR MIND in the world.
I am happy if you get involved with my art and one of my works may move in with you.
See you soon
